The Psychiatry Group provides psychiatric care for injured workers with Washington L&I and eligible self-insured claims. Services are designed to address mental health concerns associated with workplace injuries through individualized psychiatric treatment and appropriate clinical follow-up. Telehealth may be available when the patient is physically located in Washington, subject to applicable requirements. Treatment and independent evaluations are separate services with different purposes.
The Psychiatry Group provides psychiatric evaluation and treatment for appropriate Washington workers’ compensation cases, including claims with the Department of Labor & Industries (L&I, sometimes searched as “LNI”) and self-insured employer claims. This page answers the questions injured workers, employers, attorneys, and claims professionals ask most often.
The clinician establishes a treatment relationship and provides applicable clinical care.
The psychiatrist performs an independent evaluation for a defined medical, legal, or claim purpose. The psychiatrist is not acting as the patient’s treating psychiatrist unless separately established under appropriate circumstances.
